Narnia Code (Single Interview w/ Dr. Ward) 2015r

Narnia Code Single InterviewDr. Michael Ward’s name was virtually unknown ten years ago. Today he’s considered one of the top C.S. Lewis scholars and that’s because of his landmark work Planet Narnia and the sequel that adapts that material, The Narnia Code. This latter book was actually first a TV special on the BBC before coming out on DVD. William O’Flaherty spoke with Dr. Ward in 2012 about all this, focusing mostly on the book version of The Narnia Code. Since then Michael has been on the show several times. Hear the difference between these works and about his favorite works from Lewis

The Narnia Code (Single Interview w/ Dr. Ward)

The following is a repeat of my single interview I did with Dr. Michael Ward two years about The Narnia Code. This chat also gives a good general introduction to Planet Narnia and the DVD also called The Narnia Code. He will be one of the special guest at the 2014 Taylor Colloquium (see link below for details).

Introducing Why Read Lewis

Why Read Lewis - Introduction GRAPICWelcome to a new occasional podcast series designed to encourage you to read books that C.S. Lewis wrote (or edited). Even those who have read a variety of works by him are surprised to learn he wrote more than forty during his lifetime. Additionally,  there are numerous books (mostly essay collections) created after his death. As you are likely aware, Lewis wrote in a variety of styles or genres. How many have you read? This new podcast will usually focus on a SINGLE work by Lewis with between three to five individuals sharing thoughts about it. However, because this episode introduces the series, it has comments on six DIFFERENT titles (as noted in the picture). Dr. Michael Ward, Brenton Dickieson, Sørina Higgins, Dr. Crystal Hurd, Dr. Jerry Root and Mark Neal share in this introductory show.

2016 Podcast Recap

2016-podcast-recapDuring 2016 I shared a variety of shows on my All About Jack podcast. While less than thirty were brand new, close to fifteen I shared had not been available previously at the location where I now have my audio files hosted. Below you’ll find a list of the programs that weren’t tied to just 2016 (that is, events held during that year). In the past two years I did a two-part show that shared brief excerpts from nearly all of the totally new show, but frankly I just didn’t have the time to do that. So, be sure to look over the list to discover podcasts you might have missed or want to hear again. Additionally, in 2016 I began to post in my iTunes and Podbean feed older shows, or reminders of programs from the current year. What you’ll hear in this podcast is a couple of highlights from three shows that showcase the variety of programs I had.

Highlights Inklings Week in Oxford 2016

Highlights Inklings OXFORD 2016
Most of you are aware that last month (July, 2016) there was an event in England called “An Inklings Week in Oxford.” It was hosted by the Inklings Fellowship. There were 10 plenary talks (one hour), five “second breakfast” speakers (thirty minutes) and also each morning during morning worship there was someone sharing to help put the day in focus. Obviously it would be too large of a task to highlight all of that, so what follows is a podcast that shares short excerpts from talks most related to Lewis or his works. As noted in the introduction the purpose of this show is to remind those who attend what it was like and to let others know what they missed so they will consider attending the next one in 2019! All talks shared today were given at St. Giles Church in Oxford.
